The Adansi North District covers a total land area of 828 square kilometres. The capital, Fomena, is endowed with the most productive mines in black Africa, the mainstay of Ashanti Goldfields, which is one of the world’s largest gold mining companies. The District shares its boundaries with Bekwai Municipal and Adansi South. Whilst the southern boundary of the District is what seperates the Ashanti and  Central Regions.

Adansi North District is a rural district with most of the communities situated in the hinterland, approximately 15 towns.  The number of communities along the major road is far less than those in the hinterland.

The district has quite a number of pressing issues which need to be handled by the Assembly, some are Inadequate Educational infrastructure for pre-schools, Lack of modern facilities for the district Magistrate Court and Low representation of women in the Local Governance.

A/R Minister cuts sod for water project.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah has cut sod for the construction of a small water project in the Akrokerri township.

7,000 school furniture distributed

In a bid to boost the standard of education in the area, about 7,000 mono and dual desk have been distributed to selected schools in the Adansi North District in the Ashanti Region.

Assembly distributes 40 motorbikes

About forty (40) brand new motorbikes have been presented to Assembly members in the Adansi North District Assembly as part of efforts to improve the welfare of the legislators in the area.
